Attendance Numbers For NJPW Royal Quest Indicates A Strong U.K. Following

According to the Wrestling Observer, New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Royal Quest event in London drew a near sold-out crowd last Saturday, with roughly 6,119 paid fans. Reports claim this to be quite a success considering NJPW has zero television broadcasts in the UK, as fans are only able to watch on their streaming New Japan World network. It’s also noted that NJPW usually doesn’t release a full card when tickets go on sale, instead relying on the name brand of the promotion to push fans into arenas. While this hasn’t been as successful in the American markets, it hasn’t affected the great business they do in Japan, and fans in the UK rushed to purchase tickets for Royal Quest, even before Kazuchika Okada versus Minoru Suzuki for the IWGP Heavyweight championship was announced as the headliner.

Stay tuned.
