Backstage Update on Randy Orton’s WWE Contract and Future

Randy Orton actually could be leaving WWE in 2020.

As noted before at this link, the WWE veteran had fans talking about a possible jump to the AEW ship after he posted an “Elite” teaser photo to Instagram. AEW World Champion Chris Jericho and others responded to the photo.

It was believed that Orton signed a ten-year deal with WWE back in December 2010, but a new report from Fightful says Orton’s current WWE contract expires in the summer of 2020. They noted that Orton was reported to have signed a ten-year deal in 2010, but the length of the deal could have changed due to a number of variables.

Orton signing with AEW would obviously be a major move for the new company. Orton has been with WWE since day one and many in the business have seen him as a WWE-lifer, but as we all know, anything is possible in the world of pro wrestling.

Stay tuned for updates on Orton’s future.
