Chris Jericho’s Next Title Defense Confirmed For NJPW

Early Monday morning we reported on Chris Jericho’s return at NJPW’s King of Pro Wrestling event, where he attacked LIJ member EVIL before his scheduled matchup with Zack Sabre Jr. Now, New Japan has announced that Y2J will be defending his IWGP Intercontinental championship against EVIL at the upcoming Power Struggle, which will also include the conclusion of the Super Junior tag team tournament. Here are the announced matches so far.

-Hiroshi Tanahashi & David Finlay vs. The Golden Lovers, Kenny Omega & Kota Ibushi.

-EVIL vs. Chris Jericho for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship

-Kazuchika Okada & Trent Beretta vs. Jay White and Bad Luck Fale,

-Tetsuya Naito vs. Zack Sabre Jr.

-Taichi vs. Will Ospreay.

Jericho won the gold at this past summer’s Dominion (roughly five months ago) against EVIL’s LIJ comrade Tetsuya Naito. This will be his first title defense.
