All three members of SCU took part in a media scrum after the first episode of “AEW Dynamite”. During the scrum, Christopher Daniels discussed SCU’s primary role with AEW as mentors to the younger wrestlers. Here’s what he had to say:
That’s our job at this point. Like I enjoy what I’m doing for myself, for my career, but I also realize that that’s not why I was hired. It’s part of it, but it’s not the whole of it. Our job is to take our experiences from the places we’ve been and try to impart this knowledge to guys who’ve never had that opportunity to work live television in front of crowds like this before. So yeah, I’m 100% taking guys aside if I can watch their matches and I see something. I’m gonna go to them and say, ‘This is what I think,’ and knowing that I don’t know everything, but I do know what has what has worked for me and the best that I can do is say, ‘This didn’t work for me, I tried it this way, try it this way in the future,’ and that’s how these guys learn is they try and they see what works and they build their repertoire like that.
