In a new interview with TMZ, well-known actor turned wrestler David Arquette was asked about his return to in-ring action, and if WWE was the end goal. Arquette explained that he’d rather gain the trust and respect of the wrestling universe, but would love an opportunity to work with the WWE in any capacity.
No, WWE is not the goal. I mean, I love WWE and I would love to do anything with them, ever. No, my main goal is getting some respect. That really is what it’s about.
When Arquette was asked to name anyone he would love to have a match with, he responded with Cody Rhodes, siting his history as WCW champion as a potential angle. Arquette also commended the work of the American Nightmare, and current IWGP United States champion, calling him one of the best in the current industry.
It would be Cody Rhodes. I mean he is one of the best in the world. So, if I can go toe-to-toe with him I think that would be a good show.
I’ve called out Cody Rhodes, cause me and his dad wore the same WCW belt. And if I can get him to respect me, then I think I can get other people to respect me.
