Exclusive: Josh Woods On Signing With ROH Again, Teaming With Silas Young For the ROH Tag Titles, And More

We announced yesterday that Josh Woods has signed a new contract with Ring Of Honor. Woods has been on a streak lately as his tag team with Silas Young remains undefeated, they became the new number one contenders for the titles, and now he’s officially remaining with the company for years to come. Young and Woods became number one contenders by defeating the veteran team of the Briscoes.

I reached out to Josh Woods to ask him his thoughts on his upcoming World Tag Team championship match, his team with Silas Young (2Guys1Tag), and re-signing with ROH.

On his match against Jay Lethal and Jonathan Gresham for the World Tag Team Championship:

I’m very confident in our chances to win. We are so hot right now. 7-0, our last victory against such a dominant and established team like the Briscoes really keeps the momentum driving forward. We beat Lethal and Gresham during the War of the Worlds tour in Milwaukee. I’m not letting that get to my head but it certainly means we can’t get comfortable either.

On his future, teaming with his mentor Silas Young, and their bond (almost):

2020 has already started off great, Silas and I are growing closer as a team and I almost got a hug, which was pretty groovy. I’m rubbing off on him, even though he is really hard on me, he wants the best for me which means the best for us. I have no doubt that we are going to be tag champions sooner than later.

On how good it feels to sign with ROH again:
