-Following his epic attack on new Bullet Club member KENTA at the G1 Finals in Budokan Hall, Japanese star Katsuyori Shibata is now attempting to get cleared for an in-ring return. Reports are that Shibata is training with his students at the New Japan Dojo, but whether he’ll be able to come back and work the Japanese style remains to be seen. His final matchup was against Kazuchika Okada from 2017’s Sakura Genesis.
-Had Kenny Omega remained with NJPW for 2019 the rumored booking plan would have been this: Omega would have retained the IWGP Heavyweight championship against Hiroshi Tanahashi at WrestleKingdom 13, and gone on to defend the title against Kazuchika Okada at the G1 Supercard event from Madison Square Garden. He then would have lost in the G1 Climax finals to Kota Ibushi. Since Omega was AEW bound, that spot was replaced by Bullet Club leader Jay White.
