Ken Shamrock Announces Return to Impact Wrestling

Former WWE Intercontinental Champion and UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock took to Twitter tonight and announced his return to Impact Wrestling.

There had been some speculation on Shamrock returning to the promotion after Moose called him out on social media. Shamrock responded and indicated a match between the two at the Impact TV tapings in Las Vegas next month.

He wrote, “@TheMooseNation #noballs huh? Well according to your #bosses I’ll see you in Vegas! @IMPACTWRESTLING it’s #moose #hunting season and The Worlds Most Dangerous Man has his next #victim #godfatherofmma #legend #moosekiller #bareknuckles”

Impact is set to tape TV on Thursday, September 5 and Friday, September 6 from Sam’s Town in Vegas.

Shamrock is returning to the promotion for the first time since 2004. He won the vacant NWA World Heavyweight Title on the first-ever TNA pay-per-view, by winning a Gauntlet for the Gold match. He is recognized as the first-ever TNA world champion. Shamrock would drop the title to Ron Killings (R-Truth) in August of that year. He later returned to TNA for a brief run in 2004, but hasn’t been back until now.
