MLW and AEW Referees Taking CPR Courses Due To Silver King’s Death

According to the Wrestling Observer, Major League Wrestling co-founder Court Bauer is investing in CPR courses for all of MLW’s referees as a result of the tragic death of lucha-legend Silver King from a few days ago. Reports also state that All Elite Wrestling’s officials will undergo CPR courses as well.

Silver King’s passing became national news when the 51-year old wrestler collapsed in the ring during his matchup at the Roadhouse in London. The medical team was on the stage but did not get involved until it was too late. The fans were told there would be a break in the action, then were removed from the arena as the London Ambulance Police arrived.

A champion luchador in his native Mexico, Silver King, real name César Cuauhtémoc González Barrón, entertained audiences across the globe, and was a standout in WCW’s Cruiserweight division in the late ’90s. Outside the ring, he appeared under a mask as the villainous Ramses in the popular 2006 comedy “Nacho Libre.
