Change is coming to the flagship show of WWE. As reported by Fightful, Monday Night Raw will now have a “hard out” at 11pm eastern time, which will no longer include their traditional overruns that they’ve incorporated since the 90s. According to sources, the change is a USA Network call.
The purpose of extending past their end time was a tactic used by the WWE (and WCW) during the historic Monday Night Wars, hoping that the additional screen time would help them garner a competitive edge over their counterpart. The WWE would continue to overrun shows, and was extraordinarily helpful in case a segment ran longer than expected.
