Previously reported by PW Insider and now confirmed by the Wrestling Observer, Ring of Honor world champion Matt Taven’s contract is set to expire this month, but he is currently in negotiations and expected to re-sign. Taven was ROH’s choice to build around following the departure of members of the Elite to AEW, and has held the company’s top prize since the G1 Supercard on WrestleMania weekend.
The Observer also confirms Sports Illustrated’s original report on The Villain Marty Scurll, whose deal is finished in November. He’s expected to be a hot commodity. There are talks of him remaining in ROH, but WWE and AEW are both interested.
