NJPW Parent Company Purchases Stardom Women’s Promotion

New Japan Pro Wrestling parent company Bushiroad has purchased Stardom, the top all-women’s wrestling promotion in Japan.

The news was confirmed by Yahoo Japan and the official Stardom Twitter account. Stardom’s Rossy Ogawa reportedly met with Bushiroad’s Takaaki Kitani back in April and then the deal was finalized in August.

As seen below, Stardom noted on Twitter that a press conference will be held soon with full details, and the Stardom roster will be present. There’s speculation that this will lead to a NJPW women’s division, but that has not been confirmed.

Stay tuned for more on the Stardom acquisition and a potential NJPW women’s division.
