Notes From MLW’s Taping In Chicago, New Merchandise Record, Teddy Hart Update and more

Major League Wrestling

Jacob Fatu winning the heavyweight title from Tom Lawlor at Kings of Colosseum this past weekend has been in the works since March. Fatu has signed an exclusive deal with MLW, with the Contra Unit storyline being that they are “unsigned invaders.” He received a babyface pop after his victory.

-AEW stars MJF and Jimmy Havoc will continue to work with MLW while still under contract. MLW allows them to work for any U.S. promotion except for WWE, and until weekly AEW television begins, there doesn’t seem to be any crossover conflicts. When their contracts expire, they are free to re-sign or move on. CEO Court Bauer believes exposure for all only helps both sides.

Kings of Colosseum also set MLW’s new merchandise record, with fans having the option to purchase signed LA Park masks, Teddy Hart plush cats, and Von Erich foam claws, as well as traditional t-shirts and apparel.

-Teddy Hart was feared to have been injured during the ladder match with Dynasty, but reports claim that he is fine, and was just selling.
