Possible Direction Of NJPW’s WrestleKingdom 14 Main Events

According to the Wrestling Observer, the potential direction that New Japan Pro Wrestling is headed for their biggest show of the year, WrestleKingdom, includes a winner take all between the IWGP Heavyweight champion and the IWGP Intercontinental champion. Reports are that the G1 Climax winner Kota Ibushi will challenge current world champion Kazuchika Okada on night one of WK on January 4th. The winner of that match will go on to face current I.C. champion Tetsuya Naito on January 5th, with the idea of creating history, as the winner will be the first man to hold both company belts at the same time. This theory is supported by promos cut by Ibushi and Naito, who both continue to push the idea of a “winner take all” scenario.

Stay tuned.
