ROH World Champion Rush’s Contract Set To Expire Soon, Offers Expected From AEW And WWE

ROH World Champion Rush’s contract is set to expire by the end of 2019. It’s believed that WWE and AEW will definitely be making some big offers to the Mexican superstar. Rush won the ROH World Championship last month from former champion Matt Taven.

It’s interesting to note that Marty Scurll was not given the ROH World Title reportedly because his contract was set to expire this year, but both Matt Taven and Rush were given the title this year with their contracts expiring this year as well.

Rush was released recently from CMLL for not following the guidelines set by the promotion. Rush and his brother Dragon Lee participated in ROH’s Death Before Dishonor PPV instead of CMLL’s anniversary show. It was at this show that Rush won the world title and Dragon Lee was a last minute addition. Immediately following the show, Rush announced that he would be leaving CMLL. They confirmed his statement later that night by announcing they released Rush and his brother.

Rush and Dragon Lee are scheduled to face the Lucha Bros at CRASH Lucha Libre. Rush is also defending his ROH World title against the winner of a 15 man battle royal at Bound By Honor this weekend, October 12th.
