On Sunday afternoon, WWE released another installment of their Diary video series covering The Shield’s “farewell tour” this weekend, which culminates with the WWE Network live special on Sunday night, The Shield’s Final Chapter.
The latest edition shows Roman Reigns being asked by WWE.com about the advertising that came out earlier this weekend that teased Mr. McMahon may potentially fire him at this coming Tuesday night’s episode of SmackDown Live.
“Tonight is about The Shield,” Reigns told the WWE.com staff member. “Tonight is about [Dean] Ambrose.”
Reigns added, “I’ll worry about the [WWE] Chairman [at WWE SmackDown Live] on Tuesday.”
WWE announced earlier this weekend that Shinsuke Nakamura will battle WWE Champion Kofi Kingston, with Xavier Woods and Kevin Owens at ringside, at this coming Tuesday night’s show.
They also teased a face-to-face showdown between RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.
Additionally, the SmackDown Live preview for this coming week was headlined by the advertisement for Reigns facing the repercussions from his actions on last week’s 2019 Superstar Shake-up special, where he delivered a Superman Punch to Elias and WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon. The preview for the Reigns segment on this week’s show read as follows:
Will Roman Reigns be fired this Tuesday on SmackDown LIVE?
Last Week at the culmination of Superstar Shake-up 2019, Mr. McMahon promised the biggest acquisition in SmackDown LIVE history, and the WWE Chairman delivered … Elias. But, before the WWE Universe could even catch their collective breath, Roman Reigns suddenly emerged as the newest edition to SmackDown LIVE and delivered the Superman Punch to both Mr. McMahon and his acquisition.
The Big Dog has declared that the blue brand is his new yard! But, will Reigns find himself out of a job this Tuesday for his actions against the Chairman?
