Sports Entertainment is Dead – A Very Brief History of the Kings of the Ring

Sports Entertainment is Dead

The celebration of the return of the prestigious King of the Ring tournament to WWE television continues on Sports Entertainment is Dead this week, as ‘Plan takes a look at one of the most fascinating historical conundrums in WWE’s history – why do some Kings of the Ring succeed where others so badly fail?

Over the course of 30 minutes, ‘Plan builds a very brief history of the Kings of the Ring by covering every one of WWE’s televised and pay-per-view King of the Ring victors, from Bret Hart in 1993 through to Wade Barrett in 2015, picking apart the varying natures behind each victory and attempting to figure out the keys to crowning a successful King of the Ring – from type of performer, to manner of characterisation, to wider storylines and more!
