Los Angeles – September 4, 2019 – Since making its debut on AXS TV in January, the popular all-female prowrestling series WOW – Women Of Wrestling has quickly established itself as one of the Network’s most popular programs, making history as AXS TV’s highest-performing original series among live viewers. WOW and Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss was a driving force not only in the groundbreaking promotion’s unprecedented success, but also in changing the status quo of professional wrestling, as a whole—providing fans with an alternative experience that elevated women’s professional wrestling by putting the focus fully on the female athletes who comprised WOW’s roster of Superheroes. Every aspect of WOW is a celebration of the unique personalities of the athletes, giving them a platform to put their skills on full display in highly competitive matches and compelling storylines.

To honor her achievements with the trailblazing promotion, WOW Champion Tessa Blanchard and franchise visionary David McLane presented Buss with a commemorative WOW championship belt in a special ceremony held during a live taping at the landmark Belasco Theater in Los Angeles. Buss humbly accepted the one of a kind name engraved tribute to roaring chants of “Thank you, Jeanie!” as McLane secured the gold belt around her waist, surrounded by WOW Superheroes Samantha Smart, “The Governor’s Daughter” Abilene Maverick, the Fabulous Lana Star, Fire, Keta Rush, and Stephy Slays, among others.
