Tessa Blanchard Drops Out Of Indie Event

IMPACT superstar and world champion Tessa Blanchard has pulled out of the Battleworld’88 lucha libre event that was set to take place at the end of the month in Vancouver. Blanchard was set to face Dark Sheik at the event, who tweeted out that she considered not working with her due to the recent allegations of bullying and racist remarks. Once Blanchard was confirmed to not be appearing, Dark Sheik later wrote that she would have made it work, or Blanchard could have “wrestled someone else.”

The promotion writes, “As of last night (January 20) @Tess_Blanchard has officially pulled herself out of BattleWorld’88 which kicks off January 31 at the Rickshaw Theatre. We will have an amazing replacement because we respect our audience and will bring the craziest show we can to Vancouver!”
