Tommy Dreamer On Jay White Winning The IGWP Heavyweight Title, Who He Reminds Him Of

New Beginning

Jay White made big news this morning when he defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi to become the new IWGP heavyweight champion. Tommy Dreamer took to SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio to give his thoughts on Jay White winning the title and his general impression of him. Here are the highlights:

On Jay White Becoming Champ:

I like him [as champion]. I think it’s a risk, but obviously you’ve got to build new stars. New Japan has to build new stars just like Ring of Honor had to build new stars since all their stars left. That’s the nature of the business. You look at Roman Reigns, he left [due to leukemia]. He’s the biggest star of WWE, so you’ve got to start building new stars.

On White Reminding Him Of Al Snow:

[White has a] better body, but before when Al Snow was a [part of New Rockers], he had the same hair. Super talented guy.
