It was announced yesterday that IWGP Intercontinental champion Kota Ibushi had signed a full-time contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling following his successful title defense against Zack Sabre Jr. at the Sengoku Lord event in Nagoya. Now, according to the Wrestling Observer, Ibushi is claiming that it will be the final wrestling contract he signs, as he has made a “life-long” commitment to the promotion. Reports also state that Ibushi wants to bring more prestige to the Intercontinental title, much like his idols Hiroshi Tanahashi and Shinsuke Nakamura did when they headlined WrestleKingdom 8 battling over the prestigious championship.
